Industrial Visit to Chandigarh - Manali

St. John College of Engineering and Management (MMS PG Course) arranged 10 days an industrial visit to Chnadigarh and Manali from 11th December to 19th December 2017 for MMS second year Students. The purpose of the visit was to enhance industry exposure of the students. The main objective behind the visit was to make students aware about how various activities related to marketing, financing and human resource are carried out in company and give them feel of managers as soon as they start there course.

Industrial visit was carried out at JCBL Pvt. Ltd. on 13th December 2017 especially for semester three students. Two faculty along with 18 students visited JCBL Pvt. Ltd. company in Chandigarh. A orientation of company was given by heads of Marketing, Finance and Production department about history and how company was established.

On 15th December students were visited to Food processing factory - Himcoop Pvt. Ltd. in Manali. Here students learned about the Production, Operation, Human Resources Management and different processes of value added food products. Company distribute their products in North states only as the plant production capacity is less and couldn’t fulfill the existing orders. The students were given a brief talk about the history of Himcoop Pvt. Ltd. and the various products available along the years to the present. This company was established by local person and run it successfully by the second generation of that family.

It is rightly said that “See & know’ is better than ‘read & learn’. Students have got real feel of company’s working after these visits. They got a chance to transfer their theoretical knowledge to practical implication. This will even help students to understand subject matter
