ABOUT LIBRARY

The SJCEM Library is an Open Access Systematized library. The Library has developed an excellent collection of books, journals and non-book material covering the principle fields of interest in engineering and related subjects like Electronics & Telecommunication, Computer Science, Information Technology Communication, Mechanical, Civil etc. The library has a good collection of Project reports and Rare Books. Besides these, there are books of Social Sciences, General interest and Certifications like JAVA / Oracle. It has a separate collection of audiovisual material. It maintains separate collections of Reference Books and Bound volumes of journals. There are more than 5000 Titles and 25000 Volumes/Books, 110 Print Journals & Magazines (International and National). The Library has an online journal Portal for Open Source Journals. A separate collection of more than 2900 CD's, Floppies and DVDs covering a vast range of subjects like Software, Communication Skills, Management skills, Personal Management, Historical Timeline, Aptitude test GATE, GRE, GMAT, TOEFL is maintained.

University syllabus, Previous Year question papers/Question Banks, Old Project Reports, Manuals, Handbooks and Newspapers Clippings are also available in library.

Library services are automated using KOHA Software, OPAC is available for users to search the status of library material. Barcode Technology has been implemented for library transactions.

Computers with multimedia facilities and Internet facilities are available during the Library working Hours to students and staff. Library's collection and its services reflect not only the syllabus requirement but also the present and advance.

Library rules and regulation :



BORROWING FACILITY

* The Members (students) should produce their library card for borrowing books failing which the library staff can refuse to issue books to them.

* Library borrower card is not transferable.

* Loss or mutilation of the library cards should be reported to the librarian immediately. A new library card will be issued at the issue counter only on the payment of Rs 50/-

* Member should not borrow defective or damaged books. While returning such a book member will be held responsible and charged as per the rules mentioned below.

* The borrower card of a student will remain valid for the period mentioned on it.

* The book borrowed should be returned on or before the due date failing which a charge of Rs. 2/- per day up to five day and thereafter Rs. 20/- per day will be charged on the borrower.

* The Loan period may be shortened by the librarian if the books are on special demand.

* A member can reserve a book which is on loan, by filling a prescribed form available at circulation section.

* Books given for loan may be renewed for a further period provided no other reader has reserved the same.

* The Librarian reserves the right to recall any books from any member at any time.



GENERAL RULES:

1. All members shall enter their name and other details in the user register.

2. Members shall observe silence in the reading halls.

3. Members shall not damage or mark any book belonging to the library.

4. Books or other materials taken from the stacks should not be re-shelved by the readers but should be left on the reading tables. Please remember that "A book misplaced is a book lost".

5. Members responsible for any damage to the books or any other property belonging to the library and shall be required to pay the penalty imposed upon them by the authorities.

6. Members shall not bring personal belongings (including Books and other printed material) and library books borrowed by them inside the library.

7. Members should not leave the library without getting the material borrowed or taken out of the library checked at the exit

8. Upon any infringement of the library rules members shall forfeit the privileges of admission and membership of the library.

9. The Librarian reserves the right to suspend the membership of any member found misbehaving, abusing the library staff or behaving in an indecent manner.
